About Ming
As a qualified secondary teacher (Chinese & EAL) with a double-master degree (Master of Teaching in Secondary Education & Master of Education in Applied Behaviour Analysis) from Monash University. Meanwhile, I have been working as a fixed-term secondary teacher in a catholic school and a part-time Chinese teacher for students in all levels in JIC Language Centre and VSL while tutoring VCE Chinese for students who need help (First & Second language). Besides, I regularly attend sessions of professional development. Across the periods of my studies and part-time teaching, I have focused on building learner’s motivation and how to make Mandarin Chinese easier to all-background learners.

During my four rounds of placement, I have achieved skills on the management of classroom and student’s behaviour, creating a stress-free and learner-centred learning environment, seeking students’ needs, designing and organizing proper materials and assessments, applying technology and inclusive methods to help learning, and collaboration with students and colleagues. Furthermore, during ABA (Applied Behaviour Analysis) degree, I have also conducted a behaviour experiment on Chinese tones with my students to explore the barriers affecting Chinese learning. Additionally, I designed and revised the intermediate level textbook for adult learners in JIC language centre.
