About Davin
I am an MFA-trained artist, educator, and makerspace manager with experience teaching, mentoring, and supporting students in photography, digital imaging, printmaking, portfolio development, and creative digital fabrication. My approach is patient, clear, and practical, with an emphasis on helping students build confidence while strengthening both their technical skills and creative voice.
I bring a professional background in studio practice, digital image preparation, fine art printing, critique-based learning, and hands-on creative production. I also have experience with makerspace tools and workflows, including 3D printing, laser cutting, vinyl cutting, and digital file preparation for fabrication.
Students can expect thoughtful guidance, organized lessons, constructive feedback, and a supportive environment where questions are welcome. Whether working with beginners, high school or college students, adult learners, emerging artists, or creative professionals, I aim to make each lesson focused, encouraging, and useful to the student’s individual goals.

My teaching approach is supportive, practical, and tailored to each student’s needs and goals. I help students build technical confidence while developing a stronger creative point of view, whether they are learning photography, digital imaging, printmaking, creative digital fabrication, or preparing a portfolio.
A typical lesson begins with a quick discussion of the student’s experience, goals, and current projects or assignments. From there, we work through focused examples, critique, and hands-on exercises. Depending on the subject, lessons may cover camera technique, composition, lighting, editing, file preparation, printing concepts, image sequencing, portfolio presentation, vector design, 3D printing, laser cutting, vinyl cutting, or preparing files for makerspace equipment.
What sets me apart is my combination of MFA-level studio training, teaching experience, professional studio practice, and makerspace management. I understand both the creative and technical sides of making images, prints, objects, and portfolios, and I aim to make complex tools and processes approachable, clear, and useful.
Lessons are ideal for high school and college students, adult learners, emerging artists, creative professionals, and anyone seeking support with photography, digital imaging, printmaking, portfolio development, or creative digital fabrication.
