I have a heavy emphasis on allowing the student to figure out the problem for themselves. A major part of this is accomplished by asking questions which allow them to tap into their existing knowledge and make mental connections that were previously not considered. This allows them to solidify the problem-solving process within their own mind and retain the ideas after the session.
