I am a middle school math teacher with experience teaching 7th and 8th grade math. I am passionate about helping students understand math in a clear, supportive environment and building the confidence they need to succeed. I know that math can feel overwhelming for many students, and I work to make lessons approachable and stress-free. Through my classroom experience, I understand curriculum expectations and common challenges students face in math. Teaching method and techniques:
I start by identifying what the student already knows and where they may be feeling stuck. I break math concepts into manageable steps, use real examples, and check for understanding frequently. I encourage questions and teach problem-solving strategies students can use independently, not just memorization.
Typical lesson plan:
Each session begins with a quick check-in or review of recent work or homework. We then focus on one or two key skills, working through examples together before the student practices on their own with guidance. I end each lesson with a brief summary and tips the student can use for homework or tests.
