About Kimia
I have been tutoring since 2017. I have tutored a variety of students privately, ranging from grades 7-11, with various academic abilities and learning styles. I've had students where I would meet at a nearby library, some where they would travel to my house and some others where I would travel to their place. I have made great connections with my students, throughout this time and have not only witnessed some great improvements and progress in my students academic results but also in my own tutoring style.

I think the ideal tutor structures a lesson that is compatible with the student's learning style and abilities and looks for ways to work with the student to find the best ways for improvement.
My strength as a tutor is my great and clear explanation skills. I use analogies and provide new perspectives on the subject that I'm teaching so that the student gets to see another side of the subject that they haven't seen before. I always try to make our lessons more fun by setting small goals and challenges during our session. I try to incorporate my students' ideas on how they want the session to be run and also try to make them interact more by asking them to explain concepts to me.
Being able to share my passion for maths and science with other students is always gratifying to me. The contentment that I get from the students that understand concepts in a solid manner after tutoring them, is what drives me to work as a tutor. Lots of students have a negative perspective on school and subjects such as Maths, however I think its all due to being exposed to the wrong teaching style. In my tutoring I aim to engage the students in what they are learning and help them enjoy the subject. I think that is what is great to see as a tutor.
