About Katrina
I graduated and finished VCE in 2019, and I am currently at University studying arts and journalism!
English has always been my strong suit and favourite subject, and I feel I have a few good tips and tricks to share when it comes to essay prep and reading a book. I hope I can even make you enjoy reading your english books rather than dreading them!
I also provide high school and VCE Italian tutoring as I did VCE Italian and enjoyed it very much. I am very good with languages (other than English and Italian, I can speak Portuguese, Spanish, Greek and the basics of a few others). In year 12 I also went on my school's Italy trip and was exposed to a lot of Italian which I hope to pass on to you!

Overall I can design lessons around yourself and how you learn, after all that is the most effective way for you to improve!
For English and Literature subjects, we will split the lesson into a part for reading or summarising a novel, talking about quotes and themes, strategising on how to plan an essay, and then we will give you time to try to address a practice prompt on your own before I jump in to assist.
* If there are any areas you specifically need to work on, we will dedicate more time to that.
Depending on your preferred learning style, I can provide video summaries to show you, mind maps, notes or worksheets.
I will provide a similar style lesson for Italian, where we can look at other resources such as videos, or worksheets. The timing and structure may vary depending on your year level and if you're doing VCE, however the lesson again will be split into multiple sections. We will have a part for reading comprehension where we'll be looking at paragraphs and answering questions (and building our vocab!), a part for grammar and writing, and a part for oral language - whether that is practising for a school oral assignment or working on conversation.
