I initially learned music through method books supplied by the teacher, which I hated because I couldn't see the point, and when I got a guitar teacher that taught me how to play songs that I liked and paired it with music theory I loved it and that's what I have been doing ever since - for myself and for my students.
Whether you are trying to become a professional musician or just learn a few of your favourite songs it is important for you to enjoy the process and to see the use in what you're learning.
By using songs that you love, I will introduce relevant music theory in parallel that will help you improve as a guitarist and musician to continue learning and discovering music.
I have studied jazz guitar at the Australian National University in Canberra, Monash University in Melbourne, an exchange semester at McGill University in Montreal, and a two-week intensive course at New York University - each of which have extensive reputations as leading music institutions.
I have been playing guitar for 13 years, performing for 10 years, and teaching guitar for 4 years.
