My teaching philosophy extracts itself from the saying, "Teaching and Education are not one size fits all" and "Good Teachers are those who show you where to look but don't tell you what to see". That's why my main goal in any teaching endeavor is to encourage the students to ask the basic fundamentals of Mathematics and get them answered in an innovative and interactive way making maths a creative part of their lives and not a burden. Since theory and practice are intricately linked I give adequate emphasis on both to truly nurture the student's understanding of the subject. I believe in a two way learning process, much as I hope my students would learn from me, I equally appreciate learning from them as well which helps me to understand that each student learns differently so I constantly reflect on my own teaching styles and try to incorporate every child's inputs to provide them with best personalized education experience using real life examples, case studies, dialogues and diagrams. Hence, "Teach me I will forget, Show me I will remember, Involve me I will understand" is what I have learned and is what I impart.

The fee may vary from $8- $20 according to your grade, board, syllabus, and frequency of classes.

You might notice my fee range is quite wide (₹700–₹2,000 /- hours or US$ 8 - 20 /-hours). This is because I teach a wide variety of levels! For foundational school-level math, my rates are at the lower end. For advanced university subjects (like Partial Differential Equations or advanced Data Analysis) and international test prep, the rates are higher to reflect the advanced preparation required.

  • Tell us more about your subject. How did you develop an interest in this field?

At first, I liked math simply because I was good at it—and honestly, it felt nice to be good at something. But the real shift happened when I started teaching math to my cousin who is in lower grade.

From then on, I started seeing math differently. I began wondering why certain tricks worked, not just how. I remember staying up late reading about Pythagoras and feeling amazed that someone thousands of years ago had figured out something I still use today. Learning calculus later felt like unlocking a secret door—suddenly I could understand how things change, grow, or move.
  • What or who is the motivation behind you choosing to teach & why?

Honestly, when I was a kid, I didn't have great math teachers who explained the ideas behind the formulas. They just told me how to solve a question, and I often wondered how much more I could have loved math if someone had just explained it differently. That stuck with me.

Now, I want to be the teacher I never had. I see so many students afraid of math, but I know that fear comes because no one tells them why we learn this, or how it developed over time. When I break things down with real-life examples, I watch that fear turn into curiosity.

That's why I teach — not just to explain, but to change how students feel about math.
  • How does your work help society?

I promote critical thinking and resilience, encouraging students to persevere through challenges. I motivate them to embrace every obstacle, as this helps them when they face real-life problems. By making mathematics understandable and engaging, I help students build a strong foundation for future careers in fields such as engineering, technology, science, finance, and many others.

As a mathematics teacher, I contribute to society by helping students develop logical thinking, problem-solving abilities, and confidence. Mathematics is more than just numbers and formulas; it teaches students how to analyze situations, make informed decisions, and approach challenges in a structured way. These skills are valuable not only in academics but also in everyday life.
  • If you had to think of a role model for your work, who do you think of & why?

I don’t have a single role model, but I draw inspiration from several great mathematicians and educators. Mathematicians such as Aryabhata, Isaac Newton, Leonhard Euler, and Georg Cantor inspire me because they transformed the way we understand mathematics and the world around us. Their work showed that mathematics is not just a collection of formulas but a powerful tool for discovering patterns, solving problems, and expanding human knowledge.

At the same time, I admire the teaching approach of Richard Feynman. He had an extraordinary ability to explain complex ideas in simple and intuitive ways. His approach reminds me that true understanding is reflected in the ability to communicate ideas clearly.
  • Tell us about your hobbies outside teaching.

Outside teaching, I enjoy practicing Vipassana meditation, traveling, and playing sports. Vipassana helps me develop mindfulness, self-awareness, and inner balance, which allows me to stay focused and calm in both my personal and professional life.

Traveling gives me an opportunity to connect with different people, cultures, and nature. It broadens my perspective and helps me appreciate the diversity of experiences that life offers.

I also enjoy playing sports because they help me stay physically fit, disciplined, and energetic. Together, these hobbies help me maintain a healthy balance in life, stay connected with myself and nature, and bring a positive and enthusiastic mindset to my work as a teacher.
  • Do you have an anecdote to tell us about your student or professional life?

One experience that stands out is working with students who saw mathematics as nothing more than memorizing formulas and following fixed steps to get answers. Many of them, especially MBA students studying statistics, were interested only in passing exams and often had little confidence in their mathematical abilities.

To change this mindset, I used real-life examples and designed worksheets where students had to apply the underlying ideas rather than simply use formulas directly. Gradually, they began to see mathematics as a way of thinking and solving problems, not just a set of rules to memorize.

By the end of the course, the change was remarkable. Students who had once feared mathematics started enjoying the subject, became more confident in their abilities, and developed a more analytical way of thinking. They were no longer focused solely on passing an exam—they had begun to appreciate the value of mathematical reasoning in real-life situations. Seeing this transformation is one of the most rewarding aspects of being a teacher.
