About Vaishnavi
Hi, I'm Vaishnavi — a physicist and materials scientist with a genuine love for teaching and making science accessible to everyone.
I grew up in Kerala, India, where my curiosity for science started early and never stopped. I completed an Integrated M.Sc. in Physics with a Minor in Scientific Computing at Amrita University, graduating in 2023, and I am currently completing an MSc in Advanced Materials Engineering at the University of Strathclyde in Glasgow. My research experience spans laser spectroscopy, plasma physics, magnetic materials characterisation, and thin-film coating systems — so I have a deep and broad understanding of the physical sciences that I bring into every tutoring session.
During my studies I have also contributed to two published research papers in a Scopus-indexed journal, which reflects my commitment to rigorous scientific thinking and clear communication of complex ideas.
Outside of science, I love plants, oil pastel painting, and crafting — which means I naturally think visually and creatively. I find that this helps me explain difficult concepts in ways that are memorable and engaging, rather than just reciting textbook definitions.
I am patient, warm, and genuinely invested in every student I work with. I understand what it feels like to struggle with a concept — and the satisfaction of finally understanding it. That is what drives me as a tutor. I want every student to have that moment of clarity, and I work hard to make it happen.

I believe every student learns differently, so I tailor each session to the individual — starting by understanding where they are struggling and what their goals are. My approach is to break down complex concepts into simple, logical steps, using real-world examples and visual explanations to make abstract ideas click.
I have a strong academic background in Physics, Mathematics, and Materials Science — I completed an Integrated M.Sc. in Physics with a Minor in Scientific Computing at Amrita University, India, and I am currently completing an MSc in Advanced Materials Engineering at the University of Strathclyde, Glasgow. This means I can teach confidently from school level all the way up to undergraduate level across Physics, Maths, Chemistry, and general STEM subjects.
My lessons are typically one hour long, though I am flexible depending on the student's needs. I focus on building genuine understanding rather than just exam technique — although I am also very happy to work through past papers, practice questions, and exam preparation.
I am patient, encouraging, and genuinely enjoy helping students build confidence in subjects they find difficult. Whether you are a school student preparing for GCSEs or A-Levels, or an undergraduate needing support with university-level physics or maths, I am here to help you reach your potential.
