About Sheyda
I hold a MSc in Physics from Western University, where I also worked as a teaching assistant, doing tutorials for science and engineering students. Over the past five years, I’ve been tutoring high school math and physics across various levels and courses. Students I’ve worked with often reach out to share that the confidence they built in the material led to measurable improvements in their academic performance. I genuinely enjoy tutoring; for me, teaching is one of the most meaningful ways to reinforce and deepen my own understanding of science. Explaining concepts often leads me to new insights and perspectives. That’s why I take tutoring seriously and treat each session as a valuable part of my day.

My teaching approach is first helping students enjoy the subject. From there, we focus on building confidence and subject-specific problem-solving skills. With that foundation, students not only improve their test performance but also begin to unlock their full academic potential.
Teaching Style:
I believe every student is unique and requires a personalized approach. I keep my sessions interactive so I can understand each student's needs, identify their blind spots, and tailor the lessons accordingly. The structure of our sessions is flexible and guided by the student's progress and their academic goals. For some students, we mostly focus on mastering fundamentals and building a strong base; for others, we solely concentrate on practicing a wide range of problems to prepare for exams.
Content:
For public high school students, I typically align with their teacher’s curriculum to ensure consistency, but I also recommend extending the material to the provincial standard curriculum to fill any gaps. The same approach applies to AP and IB students, with a stronger emphasis on covering all areas of the official curriculum thoroughly. For university prep, college, and university-level students, we either follow textbook examples closely or review foundational concepts from high school if they need reinforcement.
