About Alexandre

I'm a software developer with a Bachelor degree in Computer Engineering at Concordia University and a loaded background in tutoring in both French and English. I have taught elementary students about gravity, electricity, electrical circuits and superconductor trains, and have been a French and Chemistry tutor for college students in the past. My college background includes classes in teaching methods and planning even for students with disabilities like Dyslexia. Teaching is my passion as I love sharing my knowledge and I hope to one day be able to teach at a post-secondary level of education.

About the lesson

My tutoring approach is more about discerning the needs of my students rather than just re-explaining the same content. I believe every person has a certain way they can understand something and my goal is to find it. I usually start by asking the student what they know before the session so that I can focus on what they understood wrong and/or what they know they don't understand, and prepare accordingly beforehand. If the student only wants help with their homework, I'm also happy to help without getting too much into the details of explaining all the content, but I tend to try and push the student towards an answer they can find themselves instead of just giving them the answer. My specialty is teaching beginners of all ages in programming, but I can also act as a consultant in coding assignments and projects. I can just as much help design applications than debug an existing one.
