About Gonzalo

My name is Gonzalo Schaps! I am a 23-year-old student at the University of Miami, originally from Miami, Florida. I believe that everyone has a calling in their life. No matter what it be. At a young age, I discovered that my calling was music theory and education. I am excited about the opportunity to teach others and connect through music!

About the lesson

Hi there! My teaching methods are very simple. Cater to the strengths and interests of my students. Music Theory can be a very meticulous study, however, I believe approaching it from the context of our musical interests ignites a passion. Personally, I found this passion through studying jazz chords in various hip-hop albums, while of course studying my fair share of Bach and Mozart. I always try to find how our modern music connects to those greats of the past. I intend to create a fun learning environment for people of all ages. From piano lessons, voice lessons, and preparing students for the AP Music Theory Test.
