About Kayden
I am an active composer, performer, and former classroom teacher with over 10 years of musical experience. Throughout my musical journey, I have had the pleasure of working with a wide range of students and diverse learners. I have worked with students as young as elementary schoolers building fundamental musicianship skills, all the way up to actively collaborating with young budding professionals who are "on the ground" of making new strides and creative ideas in new music!
More than anything, I love getting new people involved in music, and sharing my ideas with others!

As a tutor, I aim to build a set of skills that allow my students to go above and beyond their expectations, and to inspire in them the confidence to take their musicianship and creative ability to the next level.
A normal lesson with me looks something like the following:
1. Check in on Previous week's skills or assignments
2. Connect this idea to a new, related concept.
3. Contextualize the idea with examples, and problems to solve.
4. Challenge the student to solve these problems and more on their own for next lesson!
I believe it is this 4 "C"s approach to tutoring, with appropriate effort on the student's part, that will open your eyes to all that music has to offer!
