About Luc O'Rourke

Music and songwriting for me are a means of expressing, exploring and enjoying myself, whether it's alone in my room, around a fire or performing at a festival. I've been lucky enough to get to perform at festivals all around Ireland like Electric Picnic, Body & Soul, Fuinneamh, All Together Now and many more smaller ones as well as doing shows around Europe, Thailand, Vietnam and Mexico. I'm always learning myself and consider myself a lifelong student both of music and teaching. As well as teaching guitar and songwriting, I teach English, Dance and run Foraging and Re-wilding workshops.

About the lesson

The difference between sound and music is enjoyability. My teaching style focuses on developing your relationship with your instrument(s) through exploring what styles of playing are enjoyable for you. Learn all the basics needed to play the songs you love, from chords to fingerpicking and develop the skills to craft your own playing/improvising style, jam with others and unlock your vocal and instrumental confidence and competence. Lessons are 45 mins and open to all ages from 7-107. Myself I've been teaching for over 7 years now and love the craft of passing on knowledge and building self-empowerment. I studied Music, Sound and Management in CSN Cork and in September I'll be starting my Master's Degree in Music Therapy. I've performed in festivals all around Ireland and internationally having buckets of craic in the process. I'd be happy to help you on your learning journey, whatever that looks like for you.
