About Gaurav
I'm a multi-genre musician/producer/film composer & DJ & singersongwriter. I've been producing various genres as an artist for 7+ years under my stage name 'Ghost Intent' & composing background scores for film 5+ years & I also play the guitar & piano.
I'm a B.E. Engg by qualification, from MIT, Manipal. But I live & breathe music. As I've mentioned, I'm looking at empowering people who love music and don't know how to get started and empower them to take the musical leap.

Have you ever wanted to make your own music but didn't know how to start? Are you a music lover who wants to venture into producing and composing?
Let me tell you that you don't have to be an expert to start! You can start where you are with what you have! You don't need to be an expert piano or guitar player or singer to create great music.
I was just like you, I only started learning music in my late twenties, picking up the guitar and piano very late in my life, and learning to produce late as well.
I've been producing as an artist for 7+ years & composing background scores for film 5+ years & I also play the guitar & piano & DJ. If there's one thing I've learned is that music comes from within and that there's something musical in everybody. And that it's never too late to start! All you need is the will and dedication to practice and enhance your skills and sound.
My class is divided into all the areas of my expertise:
1. Music Production
2. Music Composing For Film(Background Music Composing)
3. Basics of guitar & piano
In my Music Production class you will understand the basics of music production on Logic Pro X (An industry standard DAW on Mac) with a ground-up approach where you'll learn:
-Basic functions of Logic
Pro
-Recording MIDI or audio
-Creating a beat
-Making a melody
-Mixing
& Mastering
-Reverb
-EQ
-Compression
-Filters
-Delay, Echo
-Using various VSTs: Kontakt, Serum, Battery, Omnisphere, etc.
-Using & editing samples
-Using Flex
-Working with samplers
In my Film Composing class you'll learn:
- Understanding footage
- Choosing keys
- Creating chord progressions
- Creating themes
- Choosing instruments
- Scoring to scenes & dialogue
- How to effectively use VSTs for composing
- Stamping your ideas and identity into the score
3. Basics Of Guitar & Piano
- Basic chords & chord shapes
- Playing by ear for both instruments
- Strumming for guitar
- Basics of scales
- Practice routines
I will also provide extensive resources for all of the above areas of music. And in the final class, when you feel that you're ready to start on your own you'll make a demo track or demo film composition (depending upon what you prefer or both) and I'll evaluate it.
After completing the courses I can recommend the installation of the VSTs & software you require, and you'll be ready to go to produce/compose music on your own in your bedroom studio using Logic and begin your journey as a music producer/composer or DJ.
Important notice (the gear & setup you'll need): I only teach on Logic Pro X because it's the industry standard especially when it comes to film composition and so you'll need a Macbook and Logic Pro installed. You'll also need a MIDI keyboard. And of course for guitar you'll need the instrument.
My classes are intended for anybody and everybody from children, to teens in school, college level & adults.
I'm a huge Radiohead, JJ Cale, Mark Knopfler & Neil Young fan in the Rock & Roll genre. In the electronic music spectrum I like Christian Loffler, Four Tet, Bonobo, Burial, Tor, & others. I'm an artist influenced by various genres.
Teaching is not my full time profession, as I've mentioned I'm looking at empowering youngsters & adults to take the musical leap, so we can figure out a suitable schedule.
