About Emory
My name is Emory and I am currently studying Music Production at Masters Level. I graduated with a BA in Music Production in 2023, after writing, recording and producing a solo album for my major project.
I am part of a synth-pop/dream-pop project, and perform in venues across Yorkshire.
I am passionate about helping others, and want to inspire other musicians to build their skills and confidence!

Creativity is something we are all born with, and there is no such thing as doing creativity "wrong". There are no silly questions in my lessons, I will approach you with compassion and gentle guidance to help you build your skills and confidence.
I teach a variety of music skills: music production, singing, and songwriting. These are the areas I am the most experienced in and passionate about!
My lessons are 1hr long and in person or online. I teach both kids and adults of beginner level. I know that picking up a new skill can be daunting, so I am here to support you as you take your first steps!
If you are already advanced in your subject and are looking for some guidance, to fill in some gaps in knowledge, or to build more confidence, you are welcome to get in touch to see if I would be the right tutor for you as well.
Music production: I teach in Reaper. This DAW can be downloaded for free or for a lower price compared to others. I also teach in this DAW because it is the software that I learned to produce with, and still primarily use it to make my own music. All skills that I teach in Reaper will be transferable to other DAWs, and if you would rather learn in another DAW, just ask me about this :)
Singing: I will guide you through singing exercises and songs of your choice. I will also demonstrate phrasing and breathing during lessons. I can teach basic technique, and help you train your ear to rhythm and pitch, but creative and emotional expression is an important focus here too!
Songwriting: There are no rights or wrongs to writing a song, but I can guide you so that you feel you are successfully channeling those feelings you want to get off your chest. I can help with storytelling, metaphors, rhyming schemes and rhythm. Composition often comes into the songwriting process too, we can either set words to notes or chords as we go, or just focus on lyrical writing.
