About Alberto

Singing has been in my life and family since I was born but the proper vocabulary and knowledge was not. I began studying voice as a child in Miami with professors from University of Miami, Manhattan School of Music, Florida International University and Florida State University. In high school I grew passionate about the biology of singing and how to maintain it over time which led me to workshops and studying various methods. I was singing professionally under paid contracts by the age of 13. Having done well and winning multiple music competitions ranging from Florida Federated Music Clubs and Florida Music Educators Association, I applied and was accepted to the prestigious New World School of the Arts in Downtown Miami. There, I continued to learn about music and its sciences in addition to continuing to compete in familiar and new competitions. I wanted to study Musical Theatre at the University level but knew I wanted to enter with more knowledge than I had at the time. This led me to complete an Associates in Arts degree at the Florida School of the Arts in Musical Theatre. With this degree I felt prepared enough to enter a rigorous Musical Theatre program without ever damaging my body or voice. I have recently completed my BM and graduated. During my University years, I have performed principal, ensemble and dance roles in professional Theatre, Opera and Light Opera Companies around the country. Singing is fun and freeing but it is also an opportunity to learn about yourself and your body. I do not believe in withholding Information from students or deciding what “works” for students. My methods are research and practice based but that does not mean they cannot be adjusted for a students needs. Lessons are a place of discovery, vulnerability, agreement and disagreement. With my students, I make sure they feel valued and seen because there is very little more vulnerable than singing and its study. Students leave with lessons, tips and tricks they can carry with them every day for when they sing material we have worked on together or material they wish to explore on their own. Singing and Music are my entire world and I only wish to help others enjoy themselves and learning within them. I look forward to hearing from you, let’s sing and smile together!

About the lesson

My mission is to assist students of singing in their discovery of their voice. My methods are a hybrid of Italian/German techniques and Contemporary/Commercial theatre techniques. Students will learn to sing while also learning about their instrument to best apply lessons learned to everyday singing. Having taught students ages 7-23, my directions are fun and easy to understand while always maintaining sophistication and focus. I do not keep things in mystery, you will always know what we are working on and why. I may not be the first or last Vocal Instructor you will ever have but I hope to contribute to your ever growing awareness of your voice and your gifts. Let's sing and learn together soon!
