About Mia
I am a flute performance major student at Pepperdine University.
I've studied with Prof.Barbara who graduated and taught at The Juilliard School, NYU, Manhattan School of Music, Colby College.
I also studied Prof. Susan Greenberg who got an M.A at UCLA and taught at Pepperdine Univerity, Santa Monica College, and Califonia Institute of Arts.
I've been learning music for 16 years include piano, cello, oboe, and vocal music. I have performed in the Seattle Youth Symphony, Seattle Chinese Orchestra, and school band for 4 years.
I was the woodwind principle in orchestra and band for 3years.
I got the first in Washington State Solo Ensemble competition.

I am really focusing on the foundation of music buildings therefore during my lessons students would be asked to practice on long tone, breath, tonguing and scales.
The other part of my teaching is music theory emphasizing. During my lesson, I would also teach students about aural skills, basic theory knowledge, dictation, and ear training.
The last part is I would suggest the music pieces for students to choose and give students the opportunity of the music they like to play. I believe that interest is the best teacher for a child.
