About Federico

I'm a young and passionate multi instrumentalist composer, producer, and sound engineer looking forward to share what I learned in my 10 years experience in music with anyone willing to learn just like me !

My path as a musician started around 10 years old when I started playing Piano and drums. At 14 I was playing piano, guitar, bass, drum, and vocal. This is when I started to record and produce, luckily I had the time and gear to experiment a lot and that's when I learned from experience most of the things that I know today. I've frequented music college for higher education where I studied classical Piano, Percussions and harmony. Currently I'm frequenting my third year undergraduate BA in Creative Music Production here in London

About the lesson

Music production is that stage where you craft and sculp all the raw sounds and elements of a song together, this will more likely define around 70-80% of what the song is when it will be finished.

As an experienced classically trained poly instrumental musician, producer, and sound engineer, I can show you my approach to the complete process of making a song: from the songwriting, to the production, sound design, layering, mixing and mastering.

My personal way of teaching is gonna be based on understanding the needs of the person in front of me.

Depending on what your interests are we can dive into:

- Music theory, harmony, music writing, chord progression and arrangement.

- Electronic music, using sampler, synthesiser programming, creating drum sounds and midi programming.

- Sound recording, different microphones and how their type and position affect the sound in the recording stage, picking the right mic for the right purpose will make your life easier at mixing.

- Music production, creative use of plugins and sound effects, layering multiple sounds, sound design, overall project organisation and mindset.

- Mixing: different kind of compressors and EQ's how they works and how to use them tastefully to serve the music. Spatial effects, reverbs and delays. Dynamic processors, Phase relationship between sounds, internal bus routing, overall mindset and project organisation.

- Mastering: what mastering is and what is not, how to manage plugin settings for mastering purposes. How to get your track ready for being released on streaming services.
