About King David
Build Confidence. Understand Mathematics. Achieve Your Goals.
I am a dedicated and patient mathematics tutor committed to helping high school and college students develop strong mathematical skills and the confidence to succeed. My approach goes beyond simply providing answers—I help students understand the reasoning behind each step so they can solve problems independently.
With experience in mathematics instruction and working with learners at different academic levels, I understand that every student learns differently. I take the time to identify each student's strengths, challenges, and learning goals, then adapt my explanations and practice activities accordingly. Whether you are struggling with a fundamental concept, preparing for an examination, completing coursework, or looking to strengthen your mathematical skills, I provide clear, structured, and supportive instruction.
My tutoring sessions are professional, interactive, and focused on results. I use step-by-step demonstrations, guided problem-solving, questioning, examples, and practice exercises to turn challenging mathematical concepts into manageable problems. I also encourage students to explain their thinking because being able to communicate mathematical reasoning is an important part of true understanding.
Most importantly, I want my students to leave each lesson feeling more confident than when they arrived. My goal is not only to help you improve your grade, but to help you develop the problem-solving skills, mathematical reasoning, and confidence that will continue to benefit you throughout your academic journey.
If mathematics has ever felt difficult or intimidating, you are not alone. With the right guidance, practice, and approach, you can become a confident and successful mathematics learner.

My Approach as a Math Tutor
My approach to tutoring is student-centered, patient, and focused on building both mathematical understanding and confidence. I believe that effective tutoring is not simply about helping a student complete a homework problem; it is about helping the student understand why a solution works and developing the skills needed to solve similar problems independently.
Teaching Method and Techniques
I begin by identifying the student's current level of understanding, strengths, and areas that need improvement. I use questioning, examples, guided practice, visual representations, step-by-step explanations, and real-world applications to make mathematical concepts easier to understand. Rather than immediately providing an answer, I guide students through the reasoning process and encourage them to explain their thinking.
I also adapt my teaching style to the individual student. Some students learn best through worked examples, while others benefit from visual models, practice problems, verbal explanations, or connecting mathematics to practical situations. When a student makes an error, I treat it as an opportunity to identify the underlying misconception and strengthen understanding rather than simply correcting the answer.
Typical Lesson Plan
A typical tutoring session begins with a brief review or diagnostic check to determine what the student already understands. I then introduce or review the target concept using a clear explanation and a worked example. Next, we solve problems together, gradually moving from guided practice to independent practice. Throughout the lesson, I ask questions to check understanding and encourage the student to explain the reasoning behind each step.
I usually conclude the session with a short review of the key concepts, identify any remaining areas of difficulty, and provide a few practice problems or recommendations for continued learning. My goal is for the student to leave each session understanding not only what to do, but how and why to do it.
What Sets Me Apart as a Tutor
What sets me apart is my combination of mathematical knowledge, teaching experience, patience, and ability to adapt instruction to different learners. I focus on making mathematics approachable without lowering academic expectations. I believe students can master challenging mathematical concepts when they receive clear explanations, appropriate support, meaningful practice, and encouragement.
I also emphasize developing problem-solving skills, critical thinking, and student independence. I want students to become confident enough to approach unfamiliar problems, analyze what is being asked, select an appropriate strategy, and evaluate whether their answer makes sense.
Who My Lessons Are For
I tutor high school and college students across a range of mathematics levels and needs. This includes students working on foundational mathematics, Algebra, Geometry, Algebra II, Precalculus, Trigonometry, Statistics, and college-level mathematics, depending on the student's course and learning objectives.
I can support students who need help understanding difficult concepts, preparing for exams, completing assignments, strengthening foundational skills, improving problem-solving strategies, or gaining confidence in mathematics. I am also comfortable working with students at different academic levels and adapting instruction to their individual learning needs.
Ultimately, my goal as a tutor is to help every student move from “I don't understand this” to “I understand how to approach this problem, and I can do it myself.”
