I prefer private lessons or small groups for beginners. I like to be in the water with less confident students and like taking a fun and games approach. I also like to emphasise safety for beginners.
For more skilled swimmers I like to take a teaching approach from the pool deck and involve lessons other than just in the water, working on stroke, strength and endurance.
