About Salma

Here is your Superprof About Me section — personal, warm, and written in first person:

My name is Salma Kallida and Arabic is my mother tongue — the language I was born into, grew up speaking, and still think and dream in every day.
I am a native Arabic speaker with deep fluency in both Moroccan Arabic and Modern Standard Arabic, bilingual in French, and fully fluent in English. Growing up in Morocco and later living and working professionally in Belgium, Qatar, and the United States gave me something that most language tutors cannot offer — a genuine, lived understanding of Arabic across multiple cultures, registers, and real-world contexts. I do not just know the language. I have used it every day of my life, in homes, offices, government institutions, and communities across four countries.
Academically, I hold a Master of Science in Information Systems Engineering from SUPINFO International University in Paris — a degree I completed entirely in French — which reflects the kind of disciplined, structured thinking I bring to everything I do, including teaching. Professionally, I spent four years as a Senior Project Management Analyst at a government regulatory authority in Qatar, where Modern Standard Arabic was the daily language of official documentation, executive reporting, and institutional communication. I know what professional Arabic looks and sounds like from the inside.
I am also a dual-certified Life and Health Coach through the Health Coach Institute. This matters for teaching because coaching taught me how to truly listen to another person, understand where they are starting from, and build a path forward that fits their actual life — not a generic plan designed for an imaginary average student. Every person I teach gets my full attention and a lesson plan built around their specific goals.
I became a tutor because I know what it feels like to need a guide through a language and a culture that feels both familiar and foreign at the same time. I have been that person — navigating new systems, new expectations, and new ways of communicating across languages. That experience makes me a better teacher. I do not just explain Arabic. I help you feel at home in it.
Whether you are starting from zero, rebuilding a connection to your heritage language, preparing for a professional context, or simply curious about one of the world's most beautiful and widely spoken languages — I am here, and I would love to work with you.

Arab

Arabic is my native language — it is the language I grew up speaking, think in, and dream in. I am a native Arabic speaker with mastery of both Moroccan Arabic and Modern Standard Arabic (Fusha), bilingual in French, and fully fluent in English. This means I can teach Arabic to students coming from any linguistic background — whether you speak English, French, or another language — and I can explain concepts, grammar, and nuances in whichever language works best for you.
I hold a Master of Science in Information Systems Engineering from SUPINFO International University in Paris, completed entirely in French, and I spent four years working as a Senior Project Management Analyst at a government regulatory authority in Qatar — where formal written Arabic, institutional documentation, and precision communication in Modern Standard Arabic were part of my daily professional life. I am also a dual-certified Life and Health Coach through the Health Coach Institute, which means I bring patience, structure, and genuine attentiveness to every student I work with.
I have lived and worked professionally across Morocco, Belgium, Qatar, and the United States — which gives me a real, lived understanding of Arabic across multiple cultural and regional contexts, not just textbook knowledge.

What I offer:
I tailor every lesson to the specific needs and goals of my student. Whether you are a complete beginner who has never spoken a word of Arabic, an intermediate learner who wants to improve fluency and confidence, or an advanced student working on formal written Arabic for academic or professional purposes — I will build a lesson plan that works for you specifically.
My lessons cover the following:
· Conversational Arabic — Moroccan dialect for everyday communication
· Modern Standard Arabic — for formal, academic, and professional contexts
· Arabic reading and writing from scratch — alphabet, pronunciation, and script
· Arabic grammar explained clearly in English or French
· Quranic Arabic foundations — correct pronunciation and basic comprehension
· Business Arabic — for professionals working with Arabic-speaking clients or partners
· Arabic for heritage speakers — reconnecting with the language of your family and culture
· Exam and academic preparation in Arabic

My teaching approach:
I believe language learning works best when it feels relevant and personal. I do not teach from a rigid script — I listen first, understand what you are trying to achieve, and build lessons around your real goals. If you want to communicate with family, I teach you the Arabic that actually sounds natural in conversation. If you want to read and write formally, I teach you the Arabic that works in professional and academic settings.
I am patient, structured, and encouraging. I know that Arabic can feel intimidating at first — the script, the sounds, the grammar — and I know how to break it down into manageable, satisfying steps that build genuine confidence over time. My coaching background means I pay close attention to how each student learns, and I adapt my approach whenever something is not landing the way it should.
Lessons are conducted online via video call, which means you can learn from anywhere in the world at a time that suits your schedule.
