About Hugo

I was born and raised in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and later moved to Canada about a decade ago. Our family is growing here, and we speak Portuguese at home—my first student is my son, and he's doing great so far! Professionally, I'm an IT project manager with years of experience in understanding client goals and developing tailored plans. I know that plans can change, and flexibility is key. My focus is always on what brings the most value to you. As your Portuguese tutor, I'll bring this same approach. I'll help you achieve your goals in a fun, accommodating, and effective way. Let's make your journey to learning Portuguese enjoyable and successful!

About the lesson

As your Portuguese tutor, the first thing I want to learn is your goals. Why do you want to learn Portuguese? Are you planning leisure or work trips to Brazil? Do you have Brazilian friends and want to impress them with your Portuguese? Are you moving to Brazil? Have you tried learning Portuguese before? If so, did it work? What could have been done better?

My lessons are for anyone of any age who wants to learn, improve, or maintain their Portuguese speaking skills. And if you don't know Portuguese yet, no worries! I'm also Canadian and speak fluent English. Of course, we won't be speaking English the whole time, but it can help our first classes together.
