About Yunxia

Hello! I am a graduate student at the Australian National University, originally from Mainland China. My journey as an international student has not only deepened my appreciation for languages but also kindled a passion for diverse cultures. I believe in the power of language as a bridge connecting different worlds, and I am deeply committed to fostering an inclusive and respectful learning environment.
My love for language learning and cultural exchange is the driving force behind my desire to teach. I find immense joy in sharing knowledge and assisting others without reservation. As your teacher, I am dedicated to making each lesson engaging and enlightening, ensuring that you not only learn the Chinese language but also embrace its rich cultural context. Let's embark on this exciting learning adventure together!

About the lesson

I am equipped to offer both remote and in-person Chinese language classes in Canberra. My teaching services cater to a wide range of students, from beginners eager to learn Mandarin to advanced learners interested in delving into Chinese literature and culture. I customize my lesson duration to suit individual needs, ranging from 40 to 120 minutes.
My teaching focuses primarily on reading, speaking, writing, as well as Chinese literature and culture, reflecting a comprehensive approach to language learning. During my time at the Australian National University, I engaged deeply with courses such as Linguistics, Teaching Language, Chinese-English Interpretation and Translation, and Reading China. These courses have not only enhanced my teaching methodologies but also broadened my understanding of the cultural nuances crucial for teaching Chinese effectively.

I am highly adaptable regarding lesson schedules. Since I am on my summer vacation from November to February, I am available to work on any day of the week.
