About Victor
I became a French teacher because I believe language is one of the most powerful instruments of human connection. As a native speaker of both French and Ewe who grew up in three different cultures, and has spent years teaching across primary, secondary, university, and adult education contexts at international levels, I know firsthand that learning a language is never merely an academic exercise, it is an invitation to enter another world, to understand how people think, love, argue, and make meaning. My instructional approach is grounded in ACTFL proficiency standards and communicative language teaching. I design lessons that prioritize authentic language use from the very first day, because students acquire language most effectively when they are using it for genuine, purposeful communication. I teach across the full range of proficiency levels, from beginners navigating their first exchanges to advanced learners engaging with Francophone literature and culture, and I value that breadth. Introductory learners need carefully scaffolded exposure and the confidence that early success builds; advanced learners need to be stretched into nuance, ambiguity, and the pleasure of style. I adapt my materials, pacing, and assessments accordingly.
