About Tania

Hello all!

My name is Tania, et je suis ravie de vous rencontrer !

I'm originally Romanian, but I've studied French since kindergarten in a French-system school at Lycée Français Anna de Noailles de Bucharest (Lyfrabuc).

I was born in Romania, but have also lived in both Dubai and the Netherlands. I really like international environments!

Currently, I am a student of Psychology and Neuroscience at Maastricht University. I believe this background helps me quickly understand your strengths and areas of growth, then shape a learning path that will suit you like no book or app could!

During my studies, I have learned to appreciate a more student-focused approach to learning, which has helped me build knowledge in a way that's tailored to how I learn best.
I'd love to bring this into my teaching, and convey things in a way that makes sense for you!

I'm a super creative person, and really enjoy diving into fantasy worlds!
That's why I am very happy to tackle a flexible, less structured approach to learning, and introduce more fun. It would be awesome to create something engaging for both kids and adults alike!

Since I myself also enjoy learning new languages, like German and Portuguese, for both fun and practicality, I understand the struggle of complicated rules, and complex words.
Having hands-on experience, I can help guide and support you when challenges appear, and revisit anything that hasn't quite stuck or clicked yet.

About the lesson

My lessons focus ON YOU!

They are tailored to your level and comfort with French, your interests, and what you want to get from these lessons.
For instance, my lessons can be focused more on the long-term, so that you can apply French in professional settings, for moving abroad, or for something more casual and short-term, because it is your passion to learn French, or if you feel like learning a language feels more like a chore.

Regardless of level, my lessons will focus on correctness and communication.
Learning proper grammar and applying what you've learned in interactive ways, either through dialogue or games, solidifies your learning of the language.

My lessons will consist of a 50-minute working lesson split into two parts (theory and application), and 10 minutes of going over feedback and improving the lesson in a style that fits you best.

The first session will be used to understand what your goal is. It will also give me an opportunity to get to know you and what you like to help me make your lessons more interesting.
