About Clara

I’m a French and British student, currently studying maths at Durham university. I have studied in the French system (The French lycée in South Kensington) for ten years prior to university. Due to my experience in different education systems, I am very flexible in the way I see teaching and tend to prefer more informal forms of tutoring (conversation based mainly).

About the lesson

As a native French woman, I am very passionate about teaching the French language while still keeping students engaged in the subject matter. My teaching method is heavily dependent on the individual tutee’s needs. I tend to focus on developing fluency through more informal discussions and/or presentations to build up confidence in a student. I however maintain a precise methodology for teaching grammar and other writing skills where that is needed.

Clara is a tutor at my company, Nurture Durham. I employed her because her teaching style is incredibly adaptable, and over time she has convinced me that she is a fantastic French tutor. Not only is she a native speaker of the language; she has gone through the French education system and knows all the ins and outs of French culture. She is incredibly caring and patient and makes her students feel comfortable while improving their results. I highly recommend!
