About Hortense
Hi! I’m Hortense, a French native speaker originally from France and now based in Montreal.
I have a Master’s degree in International Communication Strategy and more than seven years of professional experience in communication and events. I’m naturally patient, attentive and a good listener, and I enjoy creating a comfortable environment where people feel free to ask questions and express themselves.
Whether you want to improve your everyday French, prepare for your studies or use French in a professional context, I’m here to help. I can also support you with presentations, interviews and workplace communication.
My goal is to help you make real progress while feeling more confident using French in your daily or professional life.

I believe learning a language should be useful, enjoyable and adapted to each person. I take the time to understand each student’s goals, interests and learning style, then adapt my approach accordingly.
I use conversation, real-life situations, practical exercises and topics that make lessons engaging and easier to remember. My goal is to create a comfortable and supportive environment where students feel confident asking questions, making mistakes and improving.
I have a Master’s degree in International Communication Strategy, experience in academic support and working with children, and several years of experience in communication and events. I offer lessons for children, students and adults, from beginners to advanced learners, including everyday and professional French, presentations, interviews and workplace communication.
