Super tutor

Raphael is one of our best French tutors. High-quality profile, verified qualifications, a quick response time, and great reviews from students!

About Raphael

Hi, I'm Raphael. 20 years old and born in London. I moved to France at the age of 2 and lived there most of my life. I have now moved back to my roots, studying Politics, Philosophy and Economics at the University of Exeter. I consider myself friendly and outgoing as well as understanding when it comes to difficulties in academic areas. I have personally struggled with subjects in the past and know what it's like when you feel like you just can't get something. I have gone through the process of learning German and French from scratch and therefore know what works and what doesn't. I like to keep things light and make sure my lessons are a fun experience for both parties all while making sure that progress is made.

About the lesson

I have 3 years experience teaching French in France and in the UK. I teach people who are only just starting to learn the language as well as high school and university students. I base my approach on practical learning, which means focusing on conversation based lessons to help with real world application. I also like to tailor my lessons to my student and make sure that the process of learning is enjoyable.

Perfect! Raphael is very nice, he always makes me feel very comfortable and supported which I appreciate very much. He teaches very well and always plans his lesson in a well structured way, he also is great at explaining new concepts and breaking them down in an easier way to understand. I highly recommend him as your French tutor.

Raphael's response
Aidan is a very good student! Not only does he listen but he is not afraid to speak up when he doesn't understand something - which is vital in learning a new language. We have been focusing on conjuctions and pronouns, both of which are tricky subjects, however, Aidan seems to be picking both concepts up quickly. He takes his lessons seriously and is a quick learner. Keep up the good work!

Raphael is a university friend of mine who often helps me with my work. If it is in Politics, Philosophy or Economics Raphael is always happy to help. He has a real gift at explaining concepts in a humane and easy going way. I have never "officially" been tutored by Raphael, but the explanatory skills he displays when helping me with my work, leads me to believe he would be an excellent tutor.

I had the privilege of being tutored by Raphael and I can confirm that he is a friendly, engaging and intelligent tutor. With a creative yet focused style he took my French to the next level and helped me get the best grades that I've ever gotten in my French assignments. It's rare to find a tutor who has such a high proficiency in both English and French and he uses this skillset to take complicated ideas and put them in simple terms which I could understand. I've had many French tutors so I can say with confidence that Raphael is a top quality tutor and someone who I highly recommend to anyone who wants to improve their French.

Raphael is an amazing human being that just really gets people. I know Raph from Exeter University in the UK. We connect as he like me grew up in France from english parents. He is a great person to learn French from due to his perfect mastery of French and English, understands the quirks of learning french from his personal experience and more importantly is very emotionally intelligent.
