About Vincent

My name is Vincent. I am originally from Mauritius and now based in Australia.

I have over twenty years of experience in education and corporate training. I began my career teaching in secondary school, including French literature, and later worked as a trainer with adults and professionals. These experiences allowed me to develop a structured, clear, and adaptable teaching approach.

I hold formal training in pedagogy and teaching strategies, and I am passionate about the French language — not only as a subject, but as a culture and a way of thinking.

My lessons are tailored to your level and goals, whether you are learning French for work, travel, academic purposes, or personal interest. I focus on clarity, logical progression, and building confidence in speaking.

About the lesson

Learning a new language is not only learning new grammar rules and vocabulary. It is about learning a new way to think as you speak.

Everyone is different and has different expectations.

This is why we will start by understanding your "why" and your "where" (the level you are at).

I will then tailor make a course just for you and adapt to your pace.

We will regularly assess your progress, because, of course, my target is to make you reach your objectives as quickly as possible.

Excellent! My first lesson with Vincent was very good, he was patient and encouraging. He understood my main concern was understanding spoken French and being able to make myself understood in situations different from restaurants, hotels etc. We role played a difficult situation and he gave me some helpful hints as to how best to communicate a problem.

Ann has a good foundation in French from her studies at school and is able to communicate at a basic conversational level.

She clearly identified her main challenge as understanding and responding in real-time conversations, particularly due to the speed of spoken French.

During the lesson, we worked through a real-life situation she experienced and explored the specific difficulties she encountered.

This allowed us to identify key areas for improvement, including pronunciation (such as handling consecutive consonants in words like “suggérer”) and more accurate expression of meaning — for example, distinguishing between “j’ai mal” and “je suis malade.”

Overall, the session helped highlight important subtleties of the language, and Ann showed great engagement and eagerness to learn more.
