About Louis

Bonjour ! My name is Louis, and I was born in Paris. I am currently pursuing a master’s degree at one of France’s top business schools.

Having taken private lessons myself to learn English and Spanish, I know how much having someone to structure the learning process, answer questions, and correct mistakes can help a student make rapid progress.

In my view, learning French should not be limited to vocabulary, grammar, or speaking practice. I also enjoy introducing my students to content that reflects both their personal interests and French culture, such as a sports programme in French, music to listen to, an accessible yet iconic book, or other resources tailored to each student’s preferences. The goal is for learning to continue beyond the lesson itself, in a natural, enjoyable, and motivating way.

About the lesson

During our first lesson, we will clearly define three key points:
1) Your current level, assessed through a placement test
2) Your personal goals
3) The level of guidance and support you would like to receive in order to achieve them

Next, each lesson often proceeds as follows:

1) We begin by revisiting the mistakes made during the previous lesson, whether they relate to pronunciation, vocabulary, or grammar. Since repetition is essential for making progress, I keep a personalized error log for each student. This helps them track their improvement and identify recurring difficulties.

2) We then move on to the core of the session. Depending on your needs, we may work on listening comprehension, pronunciation, writing skills, or any other area that will help you achieve your goals.

3) I like to end each session by recommending resources adapted to the student’s interests and level, such as articles to read, music to listen to, or programmes and videos to watch. The aim is to help you continue practising French in a natural and enjoyable way between lessons.
