About Sophia
Hi! I'm Sophia. Growing up in Hanoi, I spent my formative years deeply immersed in the rhythms, traditions, and rich nuances of Vietnamese culture before moving to Australia for my high school and university education.
My path toward teaching began organically at home as I guided my younger brothers - who arrived in Australia at younger ages (in Year 1 and Year 5), through the complexities of maintaining bilingual fluency. Watching them navigate life between two cultures brought a profound realisation: preserving our native language is not just about communication; it is the vital anchor that keeps our heritage alive when you're growing up far from home.
Whether you are looking to build a foundation from absolute scratch, refine your conversational skills, or deeply reconnect with your cultural roots, I want our lessons to feel welcoming, encouraging, and thoughtfully tailored to help you thrive.

My approach centers on making Vietnamese practical, engaging, and culturally relevant.
I use a communicative and immersive teaching style, focusing on real-life conversations, vocabulary building, and intuitive grammar structures.
Rather than relying on memorisation, I incorporate interactive dialogues, role-playing, and contextual storytelling so students can comfortably apply what they learn in everyday situations.
