Ciao! I'm Sara, your native Italian tutor in Brisbane
I'm a native Italian speaker from Italy, and I'm here to help you learn the language the way it's actually spoken — not the way it's written in a textbook.
I believe the best way to learn Italian is to use it, enjoy it, and make mistakes in a safe, encouraging space. So my lessons are built around you: your level, your goals, and the reasons you fell in love with this language in the first place. Whether you're planning a trip to Rome, connecting with family, studying for school, or simply want to speak with confidence, we'll design a program that fits your life.
My teaching style is relaxed, patient, and practical. We'll talk, listen, laugh, and learn — using real conversations, authentic music and film, and cultural stories that bring Italy to life. You'll pick up natural expressions and pronunciation that make you sound like a local, not like someone who memorized a phrasebook.
Beyond the language, I bring a background in digital marketing and coaching, which means I'm not just a teacher — I'm someone who genuinely cares about your progress and motivation. I'll cheer you on, keep you accountable, and make sure every lesson leaves you feeling a little more confident.

My approach to tutoring and how I teach my classes
My techniques and teaching methodology Every lesson is personalised to your level and goals — I don't use a one-size-fits-all textbook. I start with a short conversation to understand why you're learning Italian (travel, work, family, or just love of the language), then build the program around that.
I focus on real, everyday Italian — the kind you actually hear and speak — rather than just grammar drills. My method mixes:
Conversational practice from the very first lesson, even at beginner level
Grammar explained through context, not memorisation
Listening and pronunciation using authentic material — music, film clips, and everyday dialogues
Cultural insights that make the language come alive (and help you sound natural, not like a textbook)
Lessons are relaxed, encouraging, and tailored to your pace. I adapt as we go — if something isn't working for you, we change it.
Typical length of a lesson I recommend 60-minute lessons as the standard, which gives us time to cover conversation, grammar, and practice without rushing. For younger students or complete beginners, I can also offer 45-minute sessions to keep things focused and fun.
My qualifications/experience as a tutor I'm a native Italian speaker from Italy, currently living in Brisbane, so you'll learn authentic Italian with the right accent and natural expressions. Beyond the language, I bring a professional background in digital marketing and business, plus experience as a barista and customer-facing hospitality professional — which means I'm patient, clear, and genuinely enjoy teaching and connecting with people. My coaching background also helps me support your motivation and confidence as you learn.
