Hi there! I am a passionate, friendly, and open-minded native Japanese speaker currently based in Japan.

【My Qualifications & Background】
Having learned English since I was 10 years old, I achieved a TOEIC score of 960 and earned my iTESOL certification. With 2 years of experience as an English teacher, I also completed the professional Japanese Language Teacher Training Course.

Because I’m currently learning survival Spanish myself, I deeply understand how challenging—yet incredibly rewarding—it is to learn a foreign language. I believe making mistakes is the fastest way to improve your Japanese.

【About Me & My Passion】
Travel and cultural exchange are huge parts of my life. I studied in Belgium as an exchange student and later worked in Canada and Australia. Through these amazing experiences, I fell in love with connecting with wonderful people from all over the world. Outside of teaching, I love dogs, wombats, and always learning new things!

Note: Because of the time difference, I’m open to students in the US West Coast time zone! I can’t wait to meet you!

【Our Lesson Style】
In my Zoom lessons, we mainly follow the "GENKI" textbooks to build your Japanese skills step-by-step. I teach in Japanese (direct method) so you can fully immerse yourself in the language. However, please don't worry—English support is available whenever you need it.

【Mistakes are Welcome!】
Making mistakes is a natural and important part of learning. My goal is to guide you through the textbook curriculum with zero judgment and plenty of encouragement.

30-Minute Lessons: While my standard rate is listed per hour, I primarily offer 30-minute lessons for $25 USD to keep your learning focused and highly effective.

First Lesson Free: Your first 25-min trial session is free! We will use this time to introduce ourselves, discuss your goals, and find your perfect starting point with the "GENKI" textbook. Plus, we will do a fun mini-lesson together so you can walk away with some useful Japanese phrases right from Day 1!

Cancellation Policy: Please let me know at least 24 hours in advance if you need to reschedule or cancel a lesson.
