About Erin
I am a native Mandarin speaker and a graduate student at Fudan University with a strong passion for languages and cross-cultural communication. I am fluent in Mandarin, English, and Japanese, and have previously taught English to three children.
Having learned multiple languages myself, I understand the difficulties students may face when learning a new language. I am patient, friendly, and good at explaining concepts in a simple and practical way.
I enjoy working with students of different ages and backgrounds and creating a comfortable environment where they can feel confident speaking Chinese and making mistakes. Whether you are a complete beginner or looking to improve your conversational Mandarin, I would be happy to help you progress at your own pace.

My lessons are personalized to each student’s level, goals, and learning style. I focus on practical Mandarin, including pronunciation, everyday conversation, vocabulary, grammar, reading, and writing.
As a native Mandarin speaker who is also fluent in English and Japanese, I can explain Chinese concepts clearly in either English or Japanese when needed. I understand the challenges of learning a new language and aim to make Chinese approachable and enjoyable.
I have previous experience teaching English to three children, which helped me develop a patient and engaging teaching style. For beginners, I usually start with pronunciation and useful everyday expressions before gradually introducing grammar and characters. For more advanced students, lessons can focus more on conversation, fluency, and natural expressions.
Lessons are suitable for children and adults of all levels, whether you are learning Chinese for school, travel, work, or simply personal interest. Each lesson can be adapted to what you want to achieve.
