About Dewey
Hi, I’m Dewey! I’m a native Mandarin speaker from China and a student at Centre College, where I also have experience tutoring Chinese. I enjoy helping students feel more comfortable and confident using Mandarin, whether they are just starting out or already have some experience.
I’m friendly, patient, and easygoing, but I also take teaching seriously. I understand that every student learns differently, so I adapt my lessons to each person’s goals, pace, and interests. I especially enjoy helping students with pronunciation, conversation, vocabulary, grammar, and understanding Chinese culture.
As someone who has also learned another language, I understand the challenges that come with language learning. My goal is to create a relaxed and supportive environment where you can make mistakes, ask questions, and improve with confidence.
