About María José
Hi, my name is María José and I´m from Almería, a coastal city in the south-east of Spain.
studying my bachelor degree in Human Nutrition as an international student in Halifax. I decided coming to Canada because I love English language and this country had always woke my curiosity up. I love meeting people from all over the world and I´ll be glad to be your Spanish teacher!

I usually divide my classes into three different parts:
The first part consists of a comprehensive reading aloud. During the reading I will write down the pronunciation errors made by the pupil so we can work on them.
During the second part of the class we will alternate explanations and exercises about grammar or vocabulary.
Thirdly, we will choose a topic to discuss about so the student improves his communication skills.
As homework, the student must write a essay on a subject of his choice.
Each month we will go through an exam simulation so we keep track of the pupil progress.
This schedule only pretends to be a standard program but I always like to individualise classes according to the pupil´s preferences. For example, in case the pupil is tired or do not want to follow the standar program for some reason we will play some spanish game so the student can both have fun and keep learning.
