About Santiago
I am a native Spanish speaker from Mexico and fully bilingual in English and Spanish. I am currently an International Business student at Loyola University Chicago, which has strengthened my communication skills, discipline, and ability to explain complex ideas clearly and effectively.
My goal as a tutor is to help students build strong, lasting Spanish skills through structured and intentional learning. I focus on grammar accuracy, vocabulary development, and conversational fluency, ensuring that students not only understand the language but are also able to use it confidently in real-life situations.

Lessons are intentional and focused on long-term fluency rather than short-term memorization. As a native Spanish speaker from Mexico and fully bilingual in English and Spanish, I am able to explain concepts clearly in both languages, while gradually encouraging students to think and respond in Spanish as much as possible.
I combine grammar instruction with active usage. I do not rely on passive learning; instead, I guide students to apply vocabulary and structures immediately through speaking, writing, and guided conversation. I use real-life examples, repetition with variation, and correction in context so students understand not only what is correct, but why it is correct. I also adapt my explanations depending on the student’s learning style, using English when necessary but prioritizing Spanish exposure.
