About Rene
My name is Rene Sinhue (I go by Sinhue), I am 34 years old, middle child, I was born in the USA, but lived in Mexico City since I was 1 until I was 20, then I went back to the USA. I am currently doing a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, and I did an Associate's Degree in Sociology, I have worked as a Program Coordinator in programs that help undocumented people, more often than not I help my supervisors translate things from English to Spanish and vice versa, and I have also given some informative sessions in Spanish in radio stations. I take great pride in my Spanish skills, although I didn't study it as a career, good grammar was always a priority in our household (my mom has amazing grammar) and so she always helped us and made sure the three of us (my two sisters and I) had great grammar for school and work... Now, as an adult learner (I learned English as an adult) I can definitely see many similarities between English and Spanish that made learning English easier for me, and so I have used these things I learned by my own experience to help others with their Spanish learning, I love when I see people having those "aha" moments when learning Spanish.

Well, I am a native speaker, I grew up in Mexico City, I did college over here and I am currently doing a Bachelor's degree in the USA, I speak English as a second language and so I understand how it is learning another language as an adult. I have helped some adults with Spanish by providing examples and trying to find what would make sense in English, so that people learning Spanish can see the similarities between the two languages and hence, ease the process of learning. I want to make clear, I am not a teacher, my approach is more casual and conversational, I care about people having usable skills, not learning about grammar rules they won't really use, and, as a native speaker, I can help you with Spanish that you will actually use, let's be honest, those textbook conversations never really helped anyone ha ha
