About Leanne
I'm a postgraduate student majoring in TESOL at WSU. I also tutor ESL English and Vietnamese online in my spare time to build up my teaching experience and I also do freelance content writing. I have some prior informal experience helping some foreign friends with the IELTS exam and have taught them some conversational English along with beginner level vocab and grammar since mid-2019. I also started giving private Vietnamese lessons in mid-2020 as I enjoy sharing my knowledge about my language and culture. In addition, I'm currently undertaking service-learning and teaching observation as part of my coursework.

My teaching methodologies are a combination of audio-lingual, communicative language teaching (CLT) and task-based learning (TBL). My lessons are designed to be both interactive and fun. I believe that learners learn best when the lesson is more interactive and fun than strictly focused on the old-school learning style, which involves textbooks and assigned worksheets. Learners will get the opportunity to practice their listening and speaking skills in a casual environment with a native speaker using vocab and grammar with task-based activities. Learning with me is like learning with a friend, so let me be your Vietnamese friend! :)
