About Marty
A former NCAA Division I athlete, Marty also proudly co-captained Papua New Guinea at the FIBA Pacific Games and competed for over 6 years in the QBL (now NBL1 North). As a junior, he was selected into rep, state, and national-level programs earning selections into the National Performance Program (NPP) and the U17/U19 Australian Development Camps. After his playing career, Marty transitioned into professional services, building a 7-year career in business and data analytics. He holds degrees in Economics, Commerce, and Computer Science from the University of Queensland and Monash University. He has coached junior basketball players in schools and in domestic competitions. He is currently coaching domestic basketball at Hawthorn Titans and will be joining Hawthorn Magic coaching rep basketball. Marty brings a unique blend of high-level playing experience, analytical thinking, and a coach’s heart - creating a training environment where repetition is intentional, and growth is measurable.

About the workout:
Each workout is 1-hour long and includes:
- muscle activation
- plyometrics
- defensive work
- developing skills in dribbling and shooting (specifically, how and where to catch the basketball, how to beat your defender, and how to score the basketball in game like situations at a high success rate)
- high volume shooting
- warm down.
About you:
Your background, age, demographic and skill level are all non-factors to joining me to develop your basketball skills. I have trained with NBA, NBL, College, and FIBA players and coaches and they all work on / teach the fundamentals more than anything. I will teach you the fundamentals and provide you the space to work on those fundamentals every week.
I am more than happy to train you if you are just starting basketball at a young, trying to get your form right for the upcoming season or are hoping to advance into bigger leagues.
