About Carlo
25 years of teaching, first thru traditional chalk and blackboard and later thru audiovisual methodoly learned in a Master in Education degree made me move from more complex subjects to the basic Chemistry to the first and brutal encounter of students with this feared part of any Science Curriculum, trying to make as simple as possible to get thru it successfully, explaining concepts and applications, not a catalog of symbols, formulas and reactions that do not end in anything usable, especially for Non-Chemistry students.

Chemistry is the Science of Why and How?, an important part of the man's knowledge learned thru many centuries of observation and experimentation trying to explain what we see around us, how we are made, how Nature is made, how does it work the way it does, why processes occur, how matter is transformed. It is a mistake to try to define Chemistry as the Science of transforming things, it is much more than that, a comprehension of basic Chemistry helps to get a full picture of Earth and Life. Most students fear Chemistry because they are asked to memorize countless formulas, compounds, properties as ii a handbook, fundamentals are the key, why and how.
