About Sara
I have been a college TA for 4 years and I also mentor students doing research in my lab. I am currently pursuing my Phd in neuroscience and my research involves measuring brain waves and eye movements during reading to better understand how people comprehend language. In my research, I use statistics and computer programming on a daily basis. I love working with students and supporting them academically as well as providing a safe learning environment for them to overcome their academic insecurities and help them be more confident and successful in their classes. In high school, I was more interested and confident in English and History than Math and Science, so I know what it's like to feel out of your comfort zone. But throughout college, graduate school, and my research experiences I have learned to love Statistics and Science and I'd love to pass that on!

I love making breakthroughs with students who are struggling with statistical concepts and methods that can be confusing. I use visual aids and real-world examples to make the topic digestible and approachable. I am very patient with students when they get frustrated and help them feel more confident that they can conquer their classes.
