Let start with probability. What is probability.
Probability simply means certainty of an event. In a probability two things usually occur which are: Sample and event.
Sample means total possibility of an event. E.g in a fair die, the total possibility of a die are {1,2,3,4,5,6} because the maximum face of a die is 6.
While event means the results obtained from a sample. I.e event is a subset of a sample. For example: the probability of throwing a fair die and obtain 2. remember that from the sample space which are :1,2,3,4,5,6
The probability of 2 occurring here is one time I.e Pr(2)= 1/6.
