About Neha

Hi, My name is Neha and I am a student at a selective-entry high school called Nossal in Victoria. I have been teaching younger students English and Maths for almost a year now through a teaching organization. I have taught about 30 students both in primary and younger year levels in secondary school now. A few reasons why I would be an excellent tutor for your child is that I excel in all of my school subjects obtaining very high results in all tests and exams at school and in NAPLAN. I am also very friendly and enthusiastic, getting along with pretty much any type of student. I believe that instilling a love of learning in students would set them up for success in their future.

About the lesson

I believe it is important to have a strong foundation of basic English and Mathematical skills.

After teaching my primary students to work with speed and accuracy in basic math concepts such as Addition, Subtraction, Multiplication, Division, Fractions and Geometry, in Year 5 and 6 I move onto teaching algebra and Year 7 level mathematics so that by the time enter secondary school, they are already familiar with the concepts and processes .My goal is for students to be ahead in knowledge and skills compared to the rest of their cohort so they are comfortable with quickly and accurately completing mathematical problems.

For English I encourage to students to read widely and foster a love of literature in them. This helps the students literacy and writing skills later on when I teach them how to write persuasive and creative writing which is necessary for children to know in NAPLAN tests.

I also believe in clear communication and feedback given to the student and their parent so they can be aware of their progress and to set new goals for children to reach new heights.
