About Shumaila

I am an experienced academic tutor of mathematics and other science subjects like physics and chemistry for secondary or high school (HSC) levels. Over the past five years, I’ve supported students from Year 1 to Year 12 in building solid Maths skills and growing their confidence.
I have done Bachelor of Science (Honors) in Physics. I have worked as a Trainee Teacher for primary years at Froebel's International School and also worked as a teacher at Nusrat Jahan Academy School.
I know that Maths can sometimes seem overwhelming, but with the right approach, anyone can make real progress—and even start to enjoy it. I personalise my teaching to match each student’s learning style, simplifying complex ideas into clear, manageable steps. Whether you’re working through basic number skills or more advanced topics, I’m here to guide you. Together, we’ll replace confusion with understanding and turn challenges into achievements. Let’s make Maths feel easier and more rewarding!

About the lesson

Some of the teaching techniques and methodologies that I employ as a teacher are inquiry-based learning, conceptual learning, and problem-solving approach. A typical length of my lessons is 45-60 minutes.
My lessons are designed to be clear, engaging, and tailored to suit your individual learning needs. I break down challenging topics into easy-to-understand steps, helping you build a strong foundation and real understanding. Each session begins with a quick review of previous material to reinforce learning, followed by interactive problem-solving and real-life examples to show how the subject connects to the world around you. I adjust my teaching approach for each student—whether you need help catching up, want to strengthen your understanding, or are looking for more advanced challenges. I create a supportive space where you’re encouraged to ask questions, think critically, and apply what you learn. My teaching is structured yet flexible, making lessons both enjoyable and meaningful. My aim is to help you grow in confidence, improve your results, and realise your full potential.
