About Mariam
My name is Mariam, I am a medical student fluent in English and Arabic. I have experience with a variety of different Arabic courses, and scored a 7 in my IB Arabic exam. I customise lessons based on the unique targets of each individual learner. Individual lessons are typically one hour long and cater to students of any level. I spend the first part of a lesson teaching, delivering the content you need to learn in a detailed but concise manner, with room for us to further discuss and clarify any confusion. Then, we will move on to sample questions, scenarios, and work through them together. Finally, I implement active recall techniques and have you work through similar questions/exam style questions on your own, with guidance if needed. If you have brought any practice questions you'd like to work through, this is also when I would have you go through them. For total beginners, the first lessons will cover the basics of Arabic alphabet, grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation, and simple conversations. These targets can be modified according to your individual goals and together we will create a curriculum best suited to the level you want to reach. For more experienced learners, looking for tutoring to accompany a course, prepare for an exam, or generally improve your language skills, lessons will be suited to your curriculum or pre-existing skillset. We will spend the first free lesson gauging your pre-existing knowledge, then make a plan that covers essential vocabulary, grammar, literacy, conversational skills, and comprehension, catering to your specific goals and topics you would like to learn.
