Hi! I'm Shenaja, and I've loved playing piano since I was young. My favourite composers are Ludovico Einaudi and Chopin, and I believe that learning piano is not just about playing notes—it’s about discovering joy, creativity, and self-expression. My teaching style is personalised, encouraging, and patient. I welcome complete beginners and take a structured yet engaging approach to help students feel confident in their learning. Together, we’ll write out lesson plans tailored to your progress, ensuring you always feel supported and reassured. With over 10 years of experience, I completed AMEB Grade 8 Piano for Leisure and VCE Music, guided by an inspiring Ukrainian teacher who was also an AMEB examiner. Now, I’m excited to share my love and commitment to piano with others. I specialise in classical pieces but also incorporate modern styles to make learning fun for beginners. Lessons are available in-person in Box Hill South where I have my own upright piano. Let’s start from scratch and build your skills together—whether you’re learning for fun or looking for a solid foundation in piano.

About the lesson

Teaching Methodology & Techniques

I focus on building a strong foundation in piano playing and music theory through a structured yet flexible approach. My teaching style is tailored to each student’s learning pace and goals, ensuring they develop proper technique, musicality, and confidence. Lessons include:

Hands-on learning – Encouraging students to play from the very first lesson.

Music theory integration – Teaching note reading, rhythm, and ear training alongside practical playing.

Finger technique & posture – Emphasizing correct hand positioning and finger strength exercises.

Fun & engaging practice – Using familiar songs and exercises to keep students motivated.

Lesson Duration
Standard lessons are 45–60 minutes, depending on the student’s age and skill level.

Longer sessions (60 minutes) are available for more in-depth learning.

Qualifications & Experience
Over 10 years of piano experience.

Completed AMEB Grade 8 Piano for Leisure.

Studied VCE Music with a focus on piano performance.

Experienced in teaching beginner students.
