About Rudra

I am currently a Year 12 student undertaking VCE in preparation to enter a medical course in the near future. As a current student myself, I believe my skills can be very beneficial to other current students as I remain regularly updated in changes in school curriculums and courses.

Since early 2019, I have been tutoring students ranging from early childhood (3-4 years) to Year 11 curriculum at a private tutoring company, which has allowed me to also gain experience on teaching kids with special needs, predominantly autism. Alongside my professional work, I also have tutoring experience at school through volunteering, which generally involves assisting students which questions they may have regarding their school work, regardless of whether it is part of the curriculum or not, which allows me to be flexible with my teaching styles depending on the need of the student.

About the lesson

My teaching methods are adjusted to target the victorian curriculum, meaning all topics that I cover with a student are dependent on their grade level at school. After having consolidated the basic skills for their grade level, they will able to advance beyond their year level and ultimately feel more confident at school when they cover these topics.

For younger year levels (grades 3-6), my approach for them is to help them gain the necessary skills required for high school which includes learning basic functions including the four operations, fractions, decimals, probability, properties of numbers and basic geometry. This will ultimately help them prepare for high school and improve current grades at school if need be.

For older year levels (grades 7-11), I strive to build their independence in a way that they have the confidence to ask questions when needed and can solve questions by themselves without assistance. Older year levels will learn mental mathematics through adding complex concepts to basic skills, all in preparation for calculus.

I also offer tutoring services for select entry testing into school for Year 7, which is a more specialised course and involves going through particular questions and past papers to increase their chances of successful entry.

All students will start with an initial diagnostic test for me to assess their skills and areas of potential focus for them. Every student will have a different plan based on where they are currently.
