About Chris
Hi, I am a wind instrument specialist (saxophone, clarinet and flute) who has been teaching for 4 years and performing for 7. I graduated from the Jazz Music Institute (JMI) in 2025 with a Bachelor of Music in Jazz Performance, graduating with the highest GPA of my cohort.
Since childhood I have been surrounded by music, taking part in youth programs, lessons and workshops in both the classical and jazz mediums. After commencing studies at JMI in 2021, I have been guided by many mentors, peers and friends within Brisbane’s music community. Across 2023-2025 I spent some time in New York, Paris and other parts of Europe, receiving instruction from contemporary jazz musicians and exploring the rich musical culture of the cities.
My musical journey has taken some unique turns and has given me the chance to explore, hone and take pride in a craft. I hope to provide this same opportunity to students, whether this is the beginning or next stage of your creative exploration.

About the lesson

My aim is to provide you with a calm, comfortable and collaborative space to explore and create music. I offer lessons to all ages and beginner to intermediate level students.
Lessons may incorporate and combine:
- Instrument technique
- Music literacy (reading skills)
- Music theory
- Improvisation
- Composition and arranging
in order to suit your needs and current skill set. I hope we can discover what works best for you and have fun in the process.
I teach from my studio in Saint Lucia, lessons can be scheduled for 30mins, 45mins or 1hr time slots. I also teach in the Carina, Morningside and Carindale areas on Tuesday afternoons.
